Carbon Trust Standard

July 29, 2010 - The Carbon Trust Standard Company has certified TelecityGroup, the industry leading provider of premium network independent data centres, as its 300th achiever. The announcement comes just two years after the Carbon Trust Standard was established in 2008.

June 10, 2010 - Tens of thousands of fans; floodlit stadiums and multi-million pound franchises – Premiership football doesn’t immediately spring to mind as the most environmentally friendly business.  However, Manchester United has a vision to be the best Football Club in the World, both on and off the pitch, and has become the 250th company in the UK to net the Carbon Trust Standard for measuring, managing and reducing its carbon emissions, as part of the club’s commitment to cut its footprint by ten per cent.

London Underground (LU) has become one of the first public transport operators to achieve the Carbon Trust Standard, in recognition of its work and results and ongoing commitment to improve its carbon efficiency.

Fujitsu has been presented with the ‘Carbon Trust Standard’ for reducing its carbon footprint by 1.7%. The award – which recognises commitment to measuring and reducing carbon emissions – was given to the UK and Ireland services division of Fujitsu known formally as “Fujitsu Services Holdings Plc” following an extensive evaluation period.

Stagecoach is the first Scottish-based transport group - and one of only two listed UK public transport operators - to have achieved the stretching carbon reduction benchmark. It covers all of the Group’s bus and rail operations in the UK.
 

Leading insurer RSA is proud to announce that it has been awarded the Carbon Trust Standard award. This is the world’s first carbon award for organisations that measure, manage and make real year-on-year reductions to their carbon footprint.

Marks & Spencer has been awarded the Carbon Trust Standard for measuring, managing and reducing its carbon footprint, as part of its Plan A climate change commitment to make all of its UK and Republic of Ireland operations carbon neutral by 2012.

12th August 2009 – One year from its launch, the Carbon Trust Standard Company has certified financial services group HSBC as its 100th achiever.
